The BCCI is planning to introduce the concept of Impact Players in the IPL 2023. The concept was first utilized in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2022 & its feedback was quite overwhelming. Considering the positive feedback BCCI discussed the idea of introducing the concept of impact players in a meeting of the IPL Governing Council held virtually on Thursday night.
Introducing the concept player in IPL 2023 means that one substitute player per team will be allowed to participate in an IPL fixture. The regulation about the same will be issued shortly.
