JT vs BR Live Score: Tallawahs registers six run win in a rain curtailed fixture

JT vs BR Live Score: Jamaica Tallawahs scored their first point of the tournament by defeating Barbados Royals with six runs in a rain-curtailed fixture. With this win, Tallawahs earned their first point in the CPL 2022. The match unfolded with Jamaica Tallawahs winning the toss & opting to field first.

Tallawahs made a point to create a mark with the ball right from the word go. Imad Wasim wreaked havoc with the ball by bowling two maiden overs and taking three wickets in the powerplay to leave the Royals reeling at 17-3 after six overs. Wasim struck thrice within the powerplay overs to remove Rahkeem Cornwall, Kyle Mayers, and Corbin Bosch to put the Royals in a state of bother.

However, Proteas star batter Quinton de Kock along with David Miller stabilized their innings by stitching a rewarding 83-run stand. Their powering stand helped the Royals to finish at 146-6 at the end of the first innings. De Kock played a blistering knock of 74 runs off 43 balls while David Miller scored 34 runs to help the Royals end their innings with an average total on board.

Chasing the target of 146 runs, Jamaica Tallawahs got off to a flying start with Brandon Kings & Amir Jangoo amassing 50 runs by the fifth over. King played an aggressor role by amassing 46 runs off 33 balls while Amir Jangoo too scored 29 runs off 18 balls. McCoy Obed & Jason Holder led the fightback by scalping 2 & three wickets respectively. However, Shamrah Brooks (18 off 17) & Rovmann Powell (12 off 18) quick cameos meant Tallawahs reach 126-5 before rain called off the match. The Tallawahs were six runs ahead in DLS terms, thus winning the match.

For Barbados Royals, Jason Holder & Obed McCoy starred with the ball by scalping 3 & 2 wickets respectively.
