Amidst the Coronavirus Pandemic when everyone is doing their bit, the Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) has decided to donate Rs 50 lakhs to both Karnataka State Government & Central Government for the difficult fight against the COVID-19 Pandemic which has claimed thousands of lives worldwide.
“KSCA has decided to donate 50 lakhs through BCCI to Prime minister’s Citizen Assistance and Relief in Emergency Situations fund and the same amount of Rs 50 lakhs to CM Karnataka Government State Relief Fund”, said an official of KSCA.
“This donation will help to strengthen the central and state government’s capacity of disaster management during these tough times and will encourage research activities to combat COVID-19 and protect the well-being of the citizens”.
“The Karnataka State Cricket Association will monitor and work in co-operation with Karnataka Government and other state regulatory bodies and we will definitely provide any other necessary assistance to the State Government if required”, the spokesperson added.
Besides KSCA, The board for cricket in India (BCCI) on Saturday contributed 51 crores towards Coronavirus Relief Funds to help the Government to fight against COVID-19. Also, different state Associations have come forward to help the Government in this tough time which includes the Cricket Association of Bengal, Mumbai Cricket Association and Saurashtra Cricket Association.
The Novel COVID-19 has claimed more than 30,000 deaths worldwide including 25 deaths in India. Practicing directives issued by the Government to prevent rapid spread of COVID-19 is the need of the hour. In this tough times just like KSCA & BCCI we all should do our bit to help the needy by donating in the Government Corona Relief Funds. Just keep calm, stay at home & say ‘Go Corona Go’!
