BBL: George Garton joins Adelaide Strikes for the Upcoming Season of the League

BBL 11: George Garton joins Adelaide Strikers for the upcoming season of the Big Bash League. He had featured in the recently concluded the hundred tournament where he scalped ten wickets from nine matches for the Southern Brave franchise & was awarded as the ‘Player of the match’ in the semi-finals.

Graton’s stunning show with the ball helped the Brave’s to clinch the title. George Garton has also joined the RCB squad for the second leg of the IPL 2021 as a replacement for Kane Richardson.

“I’m really excited to be a part of the Adelaide Strikers, a club with such a successful history in the Big Bash. It will be great to meet everyone and play with some familiar faces again like Travis, Alex, and Rash. Hopefully, we can bring the trophy back to Adelaide in BBL|11!” said Garton on joining the Strikers.

George Garton will join former Sussex head coach Jason Gillespie during his stint with the Strikers. Gillespie feels that George Garton will add more variety to the Strikers bowling attack & will fill in the place of Michael Neser in the squad.

“George has been on England’s radar for a while now,” Gillespie said. “He bowls left-arm fast. He can swing the new ball, which is great. He is an aggressive left-hand batter who can clear the rope and he would be one of the best fielders in the world at the moment. He is top drawer”.

“We identified that in the middle-order, to have a batting and bowling option is something that will be extremely useful to us. We are comfortable that we have a lot of great top-order options, but this is an area that we can strengthen within our squad“, Gillespie added.

Adelaide Strikers will start their Big Bash league 11 campaign by playing their opening clash against Melbourne Stars on December 7.
