The Melbourne stars have signed another Pakistan pacer Ahmad Daniyal for the ongoing BBL 11. This is the third overseas signing for the franchise who had earlier signed West Indies all-rounder Andre Russell & Pakistan’s pacer Haris Rauf for the ongoing tournament. The 24-year-old pacer came in limelight in the Abu Dhabi T10 League this year after displaying a stunning performance for Lahore Qalandars.
The right-arm pacer then went ahead to make his debut in the PSL. He is one of the best players of the Lahore Qalandars franchise. Star players such as Haris Rauf who has recently signed with Melbourne Stars for the BBL 11 & spinner Syed Fariduon who made his debut for Melbourne Stars against Sydney Sixers on Sunday night are also a part of the Lahore Qalandars squad.
Ahmad Daniyal reached Australia on Monday & is currently completing his mandatory 72 hour quarantine period. He will join the Stars squad after the completion of the Quarantine period. Melbourne Stars General Manager Blair Crouch was excited to have another talented bowler in their squad.
“It’s been a huge week of international signings at the Melbourne Stars & we are looking forward to welcoming Ahmed Daniyal into the family. To have Andre Russell. Haris Rauf & Ahmad Daniyal’s commitment to the BBL is a massive boost for the franchise & for all of our fans, who we can’t wait to see back at the MCG this summer to cheer on these world-class players”, said Crouch in an Official release.
Ahmed Daniyal is expected to stay with the squad for the rest of the season. Melbourne Stars will play their next game on 10 December 2021 against Sydney Thunder.
