Guyana Amazon Warriors vs St Kitts and Nevis Patriots, CPL 2021: Guyana Amazon Warriors will lock horns with St. Kitts and Nevis Patriots in the second semi-final of the CPL 2021 at the Warner Park in St. Kitts on Wednesday.
The Guyana Amazon Warriors registered a nervy win to finish on second spot in the CPL 2021 Points table in their last match against Jamaica Tallawahs. Warriors batsmen failed to deliver with the bat as they were reeling at 75/7. However, Romario Shepherd’s unbeaten 31-ball 72 guided them to a respectable 142/7.
The Guyana Warriors displayed a perfect bowling attack to bundle the Jamaica Tallawahs of just 128 runs & secure a place in the semi-finals of the CPL 2021. The Tallawahs batsmen didn’t have an answer to Warriors sharp bowling attack as they lost four wickets in just six overs. Chris Green led the fightback for the Tallawahs but couldn’t succeed. Shepherd backed up his brilliant showing with the bat by picking up three wickets as well.
Guyana Amazon Warriors had 12 points in their kitty & finished second at the Points table behind Trinbago Knight Riders on the basis of net run-rate. Guyana Warriors have been runners up of the league five times & will be desperate to win the CPL 2021 title.
St Kitts & Nevis Patriots on the other hand had a stung start to the CPL 2021 as they won five matches in a row. However their form saw a dip in the second half as they could win just one match out of five matches being played. Due to a fantastic start to their CPL 2021 campaign they finished with 12 points thereby grabbing third spot in the table to make it to the semi-finals.
St Kitts & patriots lost their previous match to Trinbago Knight Riders. They posted a blistering total of 147, thanks to the half century from Joshua Da Silva. However Kieron Pollard & co made sure that they chase the target comfortable to book their spot in the semi finals. St Kitts and Nevis Patriots had their best CPL finish in 2017 where they were runners-up, losing the final to Trinbago.
With both the teams aiming to win the semi finals & qualify for the Final of the CPL 2021, a crackling contest is surely on cards.
