Cricket Australia announced revised schedule for 2021-2022 Women’s National Cricket League

Cricket Australia on Thursday announced the revised 2021-2022 Women’s National Cricket League schedule. Total 29 matches will be played over a period of three months. The WNCL 2021-2022 season will kickstart on Thursday, December 16 & will be played in three parts.

The first six games of the Women’s National Cricket League 2021-2022 will be played before Christmas & then eight games will be palyed in January leading into the Ashes.  The second half of the season will be played from February 14 onwards, which will coincide with the three ODIs between Australia and England.

Peter Roach, Cricket Australia’s head of Cricket Operations & Scheduling said, “we are delighted to confirm the revised 2021-2022 WNCL schedule that will see a full 29 match competition delivered. The WNCL is an integral part of the success of our national team & maintaining the strength of the competition is a priority for Australian cricket”.

“Like all sports, we cannot rule out facing challenges created by the global pandemic at some stage in the season. However the lessons of the 2020-2021 summer have prepared us well to be agile & adapt as required to deliver the best possible season for the players & fans”, he added.

The WNCL 2021-2022 will start with Victoria hosting ACT at the Junction Oval before the defending champions Queensland begin their season in Tasmania.
