CSK vs DC Live Score: A clinical show guides CSK to a massive 91 runs win over DC

CSK vs DC Live Score: CSK bounced back in style & displayed his age-old Champions performance by outclassing Delhi Capitals by a mammoth 91 runs at the Dr. DY Patil Sports Academy on Sunday. This defeat has dented DC’s chance to qualify for the Playoffs as they are lagging at the fifth spot on the Points Table with 10 points in their kitty.

The match unfolded with CSK winning the toss & opting to bat first. After batting first, CSK was successful in notching up a huge total of 208 runs. Ruturaj Gaikwad & Devon Conway stitched a stellar 110-run stand for the first wicket to lay the base of their solid victory. Ruturaj Gaikwad dealt in sixes & fours to score 41 runs in 33 balls including 4 fours & 1 six. Devon Conway on the other end turned the heads by hitting his third consecutive half-century in the IPL 2022. Devon Conway played a sensational knock of 87 runs off 49 balls laced with 7 fours and 5 sixes.

After Gaikwad’s dismissal on 41 runs, Conway joined hands with Shivam Dube & the duo added 59 run stand for the second wicket. Shivam Dube helped Conway on the other end by smashing 32 runs off 19 balls. In the end, MS Dhoni’s quickfire 21 off 8 balls added a finishing touch to CSK’s total as they ended their innings on a decent 208 runs.

In reply, Delhi Capitals made the worst ever start possible as the opener S Bharat got dismissed in the second over after scoring just eight runs. However, Warner was looking spectacular on the other end by smashing 19 runs off 12 balls but soon his wings were cut off by spinner Maheesh Theekshana who dismissed him for LBW. Mitchell Marsh (25 off 20) and Rishabh Pant (21 off 11) resurrect Delhi Capitals innings. However, except the duo, none of the other batters could actually deliver with DC getting reduced from 72 for two to 99 for eight. Rovman Powell too failed to anchor DC’s innings as he was caught behind in the 11th over off Mukesh Choudhary.

Tailender Shardul Thakur tried to manage things by smashing 24 runs off 19 balls in the end. Howveer all his efforts went in vain as Delhi Capitals were sent packing for 117 runs in just 17 overs. For Chennai, the best bowlers were Moeen Ali (3-13), Mukesh Choudhary (2-22), Simarjeet Singh (2-27), and Dwayne Bravo (2-24).

Though all the chances of CSK qualifying for the Playoffs are low, they can come into the contention for the Playoffs spot if they win their next four matches with a big margin.
