Dinesh Karthik apologizes for making sexist comments during Commentary

India’s wicket-keeper batsman Dinesh Karthik apologized for making sexist comments during commentary in the second ODI between Sri Lanka & England.

Dinesh Karthik who is in England on commentating duties has made a lame comparison between cricket bats & ‘neighbor’s wife’ on Thursday during the second ODI between England & Sri Lanka. “Batsmen and not liking bats, they go hand in hand. Most of the batters don’t seem to like their bats. They either like another person’s bat. Bats are like a neighbor’s wife. They always feel better,” the former KKR skipper had said.

Following his sexist irrelevant comments on-air, Karthik was criticized on social media. On Sunday Karthik accepted his mistake & came up with a sincere apology while commentating during the third ODI between Sri Lanka & England.

“I want to apologize for what happened last game. It’s not really what I intended. I just got it all wrong. I apologize to everybody. It’s definitely not the right thing to say,” Karthik said.

“I am really sorry that it shouldn’t happen again. I got a lot of stick from my wife and my mum for saying that,” he added.

Dinesh Karthik is appointed for doing commentary during India’s tour of England. Karthik also commentated on the recently ended WTC Final. Dinesh Karthik along with former Indian Captain Sunil Gavaskar was part of the English commentary team.
