KKR captain Dinesh Karthik was full of praise for the all-rounder Sunil Narine who dismissed CSK’s star batsman Shane Watson very soon after he was brought into the attack turning the game in favor of KKR.
KKR defeated CSK by 10 runs in 21st match of the IPL 2020 at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi. The KKR are turning back to winning ways after yesterday’s match following a defeat against Delhi Capitals in their previous clash. CSK on the other hand will be looking ahead for a win after losing by a narrow margin of 10 runs in yesterday’s terrific clash against KKR.
“There are some key players for every team. Narine is one for us. Least we can do is back him. 2-3 poor games, doesn’t matter,” said Karthik in the post-match presentation. The KKR captain further had words of praise for Opener batsman Rahul Tripathi who scored 81 runs off 51 deliveries in his innings which comprises of eight boundaries & three sixes.
“Good to see Tripathi do the job at the top. Good thing about Russ is he’s very versatile. He can bat slightly up, slightly down. Our batting is very fluid. I started at three, today I batted at seven. The way those guys batted at the start, they batted very well,” he added.
CSK captain MS Dhoni expressed the need for his team to be “innovative” during the death overs of the match urging his players to be more careful while playing in the first five to six overs of the match.
“We should’ve been careful in the first 5-6 overs. Rotation of strike was important, but I think there were hardly any boundaries in the final few overs, so we need to be innovative at the end when they are continuously hitting a back of a length. That’s where we need to adapt better with the bat and I don’t think we did that,” MS Dhoni stated.
