Shahid Afridi took to Twitter on Saturday & revealed that he is tested positive for coronavirus. Former Pakistan Captain took to twitter to break the news after saying that he has been feeling unwell since Thursday & so he get tested for coronavirus & his results came positive.

“I have been feeling unwell since Thursday; my body had been aching badly. I’ve been tested and unfortunately, I am COVID positive. Need prayers for a speedy recovery InshaAllah #COVID19 #pandemic #hopenotout #staysafe #stayhome”, wrote the former Pakistan Captain on his official Twitter handle. Former Pakistan all-rounder Shahid Afridi has represented Pakistan in 27 test matches, 398 ODIs & 99 T20Is.

Last month Afridi had stepped in to buy a bat which is owned by Bangladesh’s Mushfiqur Rahim in a charity auction for coronavirus victims which was spoiled by fake bids. Mushfiqur put the bat for auction which he used to score Bangladesh’s first test double hundred in 2013 against Sri Lanka. But organizers called off the auction as fake offers sent the price of the bat soaring over USD 50,000 Mushfiqur said.

“Afridi contacted me personally and I sent him a link of the bid,” the Bangladesh cricketer said in an online forum. On May 13 he sent me a letter and offered USD 20,000. He bought my bat with this money. I am really privileged,” Mushfiqur added. In a career span of 20 years, Afridi scored 8,064 runs in ODIs, 1,716 runs in test matches & 1,416 in the shortest format of the game.

At the end of his career, Afridi impressed with his bowling skills than his batting skills. He registered 395 wickets on his name in the 50 over format & also took 48 & 98 wickets in test matches & T20Is
