The ICC T20I rankings Update has been released & many players have made notable gains in the Latest Update. Australia’s Josh Hazlewood has achieved his career-best No.1 Spot among the ICC T20I rankings List for bowlers.
After scalping six wickets, Hazlewood became the leading wicket-taker in Australia’s 2-1 T20I series win over Sri Lanka. His stellar performances in the T20I series helped him to move up by two places to go above Tabraiz Shamsi and Adil Rashid & grab the No. 1 spot. Hazlewood had also contributed to Australia’s glorious T20 World Cup 2021 triumph by scalping 11 wickets.
On the other hand, in the batters Rankings list, opener Ishan Kishan entered the top ten list for the first time. Ishan achieve this remarkable feat after producing scores of 76, 34, and 54 in the first three T20Is in the ongoing series against South Africa which helped him to jump to the 68th spot from his No. 75 ranking at the start of the series.
This promotion in the Rankings List also made Ishan Kishan as the top-ranked Indian batter in T20Is above KL Rahul who sits at 14th. Ishan Kishan remains the highest run-scorer in the T20Is with 164 runs in his kitty.
Meanwhile, Babar Azam continues to rule the T20I batting charts with his opening partner Mohammad Rizwan rising a spot up to No. 2, replacing Aiden Markram who moved down to the third spot after missing the series against India after testing positive for Covid-19.
Another major highlight in bowlers rankings is Ashton Agar who moved up by three places to grab the ninth position in the list, while Sri Lanka’s Maheesh Theekshana jumped 16 spots to grab the ninth spot in the List. India’s star pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar too moved in the upward direction in the latest rankings update. His six wickets in three T20Is against South Africa helped him to rise to 11 positions with a career-best ratings points total of 635.
