ICC Women’s Rankings: Shabnim, Khaka achieve career best positions in the latest Update

ICC Women’s Rankings: South Africa’s powering 3-0 ODI series win over Ireland has helped Proteas Women to make positive gains in the latest update of the ICC Women’s ODI Rankings. Shabnim Ismail reached her career best second position with a rating of 755 points after registering an 11-wicket haul in the Ireland ODI Series while fellow seamer Ayabonga Khaka moved up to No. 5.

England’s Sophie Ecclestone continues to be the World’s No.1 bowler in both T20I & ODI rankings just one spot ahead of Ismail Shabnim. Shabnim’s five wicket ahul for 8 runs in the final ODI match has extended the gap between her and the Australian duo of Jess Jonassen (No. 3) and Megan Schutt (No. 4) on the rankings table.

Laura Wolvaardt’s blisteirng 89 runs knock in the final ODI has helped her to move up to No.4 position on the batters list while Australia’s Captain Meg Lanning moves down at No.5 position. However, Australia’s Alyssa Healy continues to be the world’s top-ranked ODI batter with Nat Sciver and Beth Mooney still occupying second & third positions on the ICC Women’s ODI Rankings for batters.

In the all-rounders list, England’s Sciver continues to remain the World’s No 1 all-rounder with Australia Ellyse Perry behind her. The culmination of the Ireland ODI Series has resulted in Marizanne Kapp drops to No. 4 in the all-rounders Rankings list with West Indies’ Hayley Matthews now holding on to the No.3rd position.

ICC Women’s T20I Rankings

The ACC Women’s tournament currently being played in Malaysia and the Kwibuka Women’s Tournament in Rwanda has also resulted in upward movement in the latest T20I Rankings Update. On the other hand, Australians Mooney and Lanning, and Indian teenager Shafali Verma rounding up the top three positions in T20I Rankings.

In the T20I bowlers Rankings list, Uganda’s Sarah Akiteng went up by 14 places to occupy 66th position while England’s Ecclestone continues to occupy No.1 position followed by England’s Sarah Glenn and Ismail at Nos. 2 and 3.
