WTC Points Table: India occupies top spot while Pakistan & West Indies tied at Second Spot

The ICC WTC Points Table 2021-2023 has been updated & the Indian National Cricket team occupies the top spot on the WTC (2021-2023) Points Table while West Indies & Pakistan is tied at the second position on the Points table.

India has scored 14 points in the last two tets matches they have played against England. The PCT of the Indian Cricket team is 58.33 after clinching one match & drawing the other match. England is currently in the fourth spot on the points table by earning two points after registering a draw in the first test against India.

Meanwhile, Pakistan has leveled the two-match test series by winning the second test against West Indies in Jamaica. Paksitan dismissed West Indies for 219 on day five at Sabina Park & claimed 12 WTC Points. Earlier West Indies had defeated Paksitan in the first test at the same venue to claim their share of 12 WTC Points. Thus by bagging 12 WTC Points both West Indies & Pakistan are tied on the second spot on the WTC Points table.

Meanwhile in ongoing India vs England test series, the first test ended in a draw but later India staged a solid comeback to win the second test by 151 runs at the Lord’s Cricket ground.

Currently, both India & England are playing the third Test at Headingley. India is currently reeling at 56/4 at lunch break with Rohit Sharma staying 15* unbeaten on the crease. In the first session, India scored just 56 runs of 25,5 overs being bowled.

James Anderson ran through India’s top order by dismissing KL Rahul, Cheteshwra Pujara & Virat Kohli right in the first session of the opening day of the third test. However Rohit & Rahane together tried to steady India’s innings by stitching 35 runs stand but the partnership couldn’t flourish further as right on the cusp of lunch, Robinson removed Rahane for 18 by reducing India to 56/4.

India hasn’t made any change to its Playing XI while England made two changes to its squad by including Dawid Malan and Craig Overton in the playing XI. Zak Crawley and Dominic Sibley have been omitted from the squad, while Mark Wood has been ruled out of the series due to an injury.
