IND vs NZ 1st T20I: Team India has undergone a major revamp with Rahul Dravid & Rohit Sharma taking up the reins of the Indian Cricket team. With a new coach & T20I captain on board, team India will come into a face-off with T20 World Cup finalists New Zeaalnd in a three-match T20I series starting on Wednesday at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur.
India’s New Head Coach Rahul Dravid oversaw the preparations of young team India on Monday at the players were getting into groom for the first T20I. Team India will play under the leadership of its New captain Rohit Sharma who has taken over T20I captaincy from Virat Kohli who has stepped down from his role after the completion of the T20 World Cup 2021.
After having a humiliating campaign at the T20 World Cup 2021, India will have a major task to outclass a strong New Zealand squad who had finished as runners-up at the prestigious T20 World Cup. India will be without the services of its key players like Virat Kohli, Jasprit Bumrah, and Ravindra Jadeja. The board has decided to rest the key players to manage their workload.
On the other hand, New Zealand to have a couple of players missing. The NZC announced on Tuesday that Captain Kane Williamson will miss the T20I series to focus on the two-match Test series that begins on November 25 in Kanpur. The Black Caps will also be without the services of their star player Devon Conway who had injured his hand during the T20 World Cup and had also missed the final against the Aussies.
For both teams, this series will be a chance to overcome their disappointment of the T20 World Cup 2021, Especially India. The ‘men in Blue’ will be looking to bounce back after having a forgettable campaign in the T20 World Cup 2021 which resulted in their elimination from the race of glitzy trophy. The disgusting end of India’s campaign in the T20 World Cup 2021 marked the end of Kohli’s reign as a captain with a whimper. With New Coach & New Captain on board, India will try to turn all wrongs into rights by winning this series against New Zeaalnd. On the other hand, the Black Caps who had an exceptional run in the recently ended T20 World Cup 2021 are coming off a draining world tournament and it won’t be a surprise if they do lack the intensity.

This venue has never hosted a T20I though it has hosted a number of T20 matches of the Indian Premier League. This wicket is batter’s haven as they can hit best shots & accelerate runs easily at this venue. In IPL 2019, seven matches were played at this venue out of which six matches were won by the chasing team. Thus the team winning the toss should opt to chase the target to emerge victorious on this pitch.
India had a poor run in the recently ended T20 World Cup 2021 & is looking in low form. On the other hand, New Zealand is in its ‘best form’ which was evident through its blistering campaign in the T20 World Cup 2021. Looking at New Zealand’s current form they could have an edge over India in today’s clash.
Prediction: New Zealand to win the first T20I
