IPL 2021: Full Players List signed in as Replacements for the UAE Leg & Full Updated Squads

The second phase of the IPL 2021 is all set to begin on 19th September in the UAE. The BCCI has also released the complete schedule of the second leg of the IPL 2021. Some franchises such as CSK & MI have already reached the UAE & have begun their preparations for the second leg of the IPL 2021 while the remaining six franchises are expected to reach the UAE by the end of this month.

Ahead of the start of the IPL 2021, a few teams have suffered setbacks as some of their players have pulled out of the tournament due to various reasons. Thus the franchises have started to make a note of players who will be unavailable for the second leg of the IPL 2021 & have announced their replacements. The franchises such as Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), Rajasthan Royals (RR), Punjab Kings (PBKS), and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) have announced replacements in their respective squads for the remainder of the season.

List of Players who have been signed in as replacements for the second leg of the IPL 2021 in the UAE

RCB

Royal Challengers Bangalore has signed in Wanindu Hasaranga as replacement of Adam Zampa who opted out of the IPL 2021 due to personal reasons, while Sri Lanka’s Dushmantha Chameera has been roped in as Daniel Sams replacement. The other batsman to walk in the RCB squad is New Zealand’s Tim David who has replaced teammate Finn Allen. Kiwi’s Finn Allen will join New Zealand’s squad for their upcoming series against Bangladesh & Pakistan & thus he could not feature in the second leg of the IPL 2021. The bowling all-rounder of Sussex County Club, George Garton has been selected as the replacement of Australia’s Kane Richardson.

KKR

Kolkata Knight Riders star pacer Pat Cummins has made himself unavailable for the second leg of the IPL 2021 due to personal reasons. The franchise has roped in New Zealand’s Tim Southee as the Australian pacer’s replacement for the remaining 31 matches of the IPL 2021 in the UAE. Apart from this one change, KKR has all its players available for the second phase of the IPL 2021.

Punjab Kings

Punjab Kings have replaced two costly Australian pacers, Richardson and Riley Meredith ahead of the second phase of the IPL 2021. The franchise has signed Australian pacer Nathan Ellis in place of Riley Meredith whereas England’s Adil Rashid has been signed as the replacement of Jhye Richardson for the remaining 31 matches of the IPL 2021.

RR

RR has included seven overseas players in the squad ahead of the second phase of the IPL 2021. The franchise has named New Zealand’s wicket-keeper batsman Glenn Phillips as Jofra Archer’s replacement. RR has also roped in the World’s No 1 ranked T20I bowler Tabraiz Shamsi in place of Andrew Tye. However the franchise hasn’t announced any replacement of Jos Buttler yet, so there are chances that Buttler can return for the second leg of the IPL 2021 in the UAE.

CSK

CSK’s major challenge was the availability of their star pacer, Josh Hazlewood. But what comes as a major boost for the franchise is that Hazlewood will be available for the IPL 2021 in the UAE. This is good news for the franchise as Hazlewood could contribute a lot in UAE pitches as evident from his performance in the IPL 2020. CSK will march in with a full squad in the second leg of the IPL 2021 in the UAE.

Delhi Capitals

Delhi capitals were worried about the availability of their Captain, Shreyas Iyer in the second phase of the IPL. Iyer missed the first leg of the IPL 2021 due to a shoulder injury. But he is now fit & fine to feature in the second phase of the IPL 2021. Thus Delhi Capitals will have their full squad available for the second phase of the IPL 2021 in the UAE.

Mumbai Indians

Mumbai Indians are one of the four teams who haven’t made any changes in their squad. All its overseas players are available for selection & Indian players are fit to take the field. After winning the IPL 2020 on the grounds of UAE, it would be interesting to see what will be Mumbai Indians’ plan of action for the second leg of the IPL 2021.

SunRisers Hyderabad

SunRisers Hyderabad which is placed at the bottom of the Points Table is the fourth team that hasn’t made any changes to their squad. Earlier during the first leg of the IPL 2021, the franchise has replaced Mitchell Marsh with Jason Roy & since then they didn’t do any changes in the squad. However, they did change their captain midway from David Warner to Kane Williamson.
