IPL 2021, Match 56, RCB vs DC, Stats Review: Avesh Khan, KS Bharat achieves brilliant feats, Check Out!

What a fantastic game it was….An absolute nail-biter! RCB defeated Delhi Capitals by massive seven wickets & thereby fixed their spot in the playoffs race. The last two clashes of the group stage were played together at different venues. While MI defeated SRH comfortable in Abu Dhabi, the game turned out to be a roller coaster in the other fixture in Dubai.

The toss turned out to be in RCB’s favor with Kohli opting to bowl first. DC openers Prithvi Shaw and Shikhar Dhawan opted attacking approach right from the beginning of the match giving DC a stellar start to their innings. The openers added a blistering 88 runs stand for the first wicket by scoring at a good pace. However, DC’s middle order failed to carry forward the momentum as RCB bowlers held their nerves & bounced back. Thus DC could post just 164/5 in 20 overs. Chasing an average total of 164, RCB got off to a poor start with Virat & Padikkal getting dismissed on 6 & 0 respectively. However, in-form Glenn Maxwell joined forces with KS Bharat and the duo brought RCB back in the hunt.

Though both the big hitters scored half-centuries each, DC had an edge till the last ball. RCB required just five runs off the last ball to win the clash with KL Bharat on the strike with Avesh Khan bowling that crucial last over. Hopes were very low from KS Bharat to smash the crucial six. However getting the jaws opened, KS Bharat did the unexpected by hitting a six off the last ball & took RCB towards a stellar win. With this nerve enthralling victory, RCB fixed its spot in the Playoffs with pride.
