Pakistan will begin its tour to England with at least a month of training in a ‘bio-secure’ environment, before the series of three Tests & three T20Is.
Teenage cricketing sensations Haider Ali & Naseem Shah have been selected for Pakistan’s tour of England which will commence next month. Pakistan’s 29 member squad will begin the tour with at least a month of training in a ‘bio-secure’ environment, before the series of three tests & three 20-20 internationals gets started on August 5. Seventeen-year-old talented pacer Naseem Shah will be the center of attraction in the game who became the youngest bowler ever to take a test hat-trick in February after his debut in Australia last year.
Whereas Haider’s inclusion in the squad at the age of 19 will raise the excitement after he scored 107 runs in the Under-19 World Cup this year, followed by 218 runs in the Emerging Teams Cup in Bangladesh.
He also captured 645 runs including a century in the final in Pakistan’s premier domestic tournament Quaid-e-Azam Trophy last year. Chief selector & head coach Misbah-Ul-Haq said that the selection of the large team was difficult.
“The selectors have picked a squad which gives us the best chance of success in England. It was a challenging process as the players have not played for an extended period of time,” said Misbah.
Middle order batsman Fawad Alam & Wicket-keeper Sarfaraz Ahmed has also made to the squad which will tour to England. Spinners Bilal Asif and Mohammad Nawaz, Opener Imran Butt, fast bowler Musa Khan are named as reserves in case any of the players fail pre-tour coronavirus testing, which will be carried out on 20 and 25 June, added Misbah
Pakistan will play test matches in Manchester from August 5 to 9 & Southampton from August 13-17 & 21-25. Whereas the three 20-20 Internationals will be played in Southampton on August 28, 30 & September 1.
