The PCB on Thursday slammed Pakistan all-rounder Mohammed Hafeez for breaching their code of conduct by testing himself privately for COVID-19 without prior permission from the PCB.

This news came after Hafeex was among the ten players who had tested positive for COVID-19. Mohammed Hafeez decided to take a second opinion on his own by testing privately for the second time which results came out to be negative. The tests carried out by the PCB were done by Shaukat Khanum Laboratory.

Hafeez opted for a second test in his personal capacity at Chugtai Laboratory in Lahore. On Wednesday Hafeez shared his second test results of the COVID-19 test with his family & followers via Twitter. This wasn’t liked by the PCB. The board’s CEO Wasim khan spoke to the experienced cricketer on Wednesday to make Hafeez clear that his actions were disappointing. During the conversation, he was clearly told that he should have spoken to the PCB before taking any such actions by violating the testing protocols.

“I spoke to Mohammad Hafeez today and I made it clear to him our disappointment at the way he had handled this entire affair. As an individual, he has a right to take a private test but he should have spoken to us first because he created a problem for us,” he said.

Wasim Khan also went on to say that this is not the first time that Mohammed Hafeez breached the board’s rules especially when it came to sharing the test reports on social media.

“This is not the first time that Mohammad Hafeez has breached our rules in the media. He doesn’t have a central contract but once he was selected for the Pakistan team he has to abide by the rules and regulations for all players especially pertaining to the use of social media. We are still looking at the matter because it has caused us a lot of problems,” PCB CEO said on Cricket Baaz Youtube Channel.

Following the incident, the PCB has decided to test all the players again on 25th June for their upcoming tour of England in which Pakistan will face England in 3 Tests & 3 T20Is against the three lions. The ten players who have been tested positive in the first test have been asked to home quarantine themselves & will have to test negative twice to get a chance to be placed in the squad which will tour to England in the next month.
