The former Fielding Coach of Bangladesh’s Men’s team, Ryan Cook will take over as Interim Head Coach of the Netherlands Men’s team in the absence of Ryan Campbell.
The decision was taken due to regular head coach Ryan Campbell’s health issues. Ryan had suffered a series of cardiac arrests last month & had to be hospitalized due to the same. However, Campbell is expected to make a full recovery soon & was recently discharged from the hospital. According to a statement from Koninklijke Nederlandse Cricket Bond said that Campbell is expected to return to the team later in the summer.
Ryan Cook had served as the fielding coach of Bangladesh’s Men’s team & had also worked as fielding-cum-assistant coach for South Africa ‘A’ and U19 teams apart from being an assistant coach for Hobart Hurricanes at the Big Bash League (BBL) in 2018.
He is currently working as the Head Coach at the Gary Kristen Cricket Academy in Cape Town. The announcement meant that Cook will now work closely with James Hilditch, Peter Borren, and Netherlands captain Pieter Seelaar.
“I am honored to be joining the team and look forward to working with the players and coaches for the next few months,” Cook said in the statement. “There is an exciting schedule ahead and I aim to help the team from strength to strength,” Cook added to his statement.
