Sourav Ganguly’s condition is clinically stable, gets discharge from the Hospital

BCCI President Sourav Ganguly gets discharged from Kolkata’s Woodlands Hospital where he had been admitted following a positive COVID-19 result. Woodlands hospital discharged him after terming him as “clinically stable”.

Dr. Rupali Basu, the MD & CEO of the hospital issued a statement confirming that the BCCI Chief would “remain in home isolation”, with two of the doctors who had been treating him, Dr. Saptarshi Basu and Dr. Soutik Panda will supervise his health for few days.

Sourav Ganguly had a mild fever on Sunday & tested positive for COVID-19 on Monday evening following which he was admitted to the hospital. Following his admission, a hospital statement said that Ganguly was “hemodynamically stable” after he was given monoclonal antibody cocktail therapy & even a medical board has been formed to monitor his health.

According to the sources close to Ganguly’s family he was advised by doctors to avoid isolating at home & get admitted to the hospital because of some pre-existing health conditions. According to a PTI report, he had been administered both doses of the vaccine against Covid-19.

Earlier in Janaury this year, Ganguly had to be hospitalized twice after complaining of “chest discomfort”. Initially, he was admitted to Woodlands Hospital after suffering a heart attack. He underwent angioplasty at that time & was recovered at that time. But later in January, he had to undergo another angioplasty at the Apollo Gleneagles Hospital & doctors confirmed afterward that two stents had been placed. Sourav Ganguly has been serving as the president of BCCI since 2019 after serving as Secretary of the Cricket Association of Bengal.

Currently, the Indian test squad has locked horns with South Africa in three-match test series. Team India has successfully clinched the first Test at Centurion by 113 runs to take a 1-0 lead in the three-match test series. Resuming their innings at 94 for 4, South Africa didn’t last long & were eventually bowled out for 191 runs in 68 overs. This memorable victory marks India’s first test win in Centurion.
