SRH interacts with David Warner ahead of the IPL 2022 Auction

Recently responding to a fan’s tweet, Australia’s star batsmen David warner expressed his apprehensions about the SRH team doing well in the IPL 2022 Auction.

The franchise noticed David Warner’s tweet & took to their official Twitter account to react to their former player’s tweet. SRH congratulated Australia’s opener batsman for retaining the Ashes 2021-2022 series while also acknowledging his return to form with the bat. The SRG franchise went ahead to wish luck to the southpaw for the IPL 2022 mega auction as Warner is all set to go under the hammer ahead of the new season. The much anticipated IPL 2022 Auction is all set to commence in Bangalore on February 12-13.

“Congrats on the Ashes win Davey – Looks like you are back to form and enjoying the after-party! On the other hand, we hope you have a good auction!”

A Glimpse of David Warner’s stint with SRH Squad

David Warner had a remarkable stint with the “orange Army’. The swashbuckler contributed significantly both with the bat as well as the captain of the team. Under Warner’s captaincy, SRH clinched their maiden IPL trophy in 2016.

However, Warner was abruptly removed from captaincy midway during IPL 2021. The batter struggled to make an impact with the bat while the team also displayed under the par performance as a result they were eliminated during the league stage of the IPL 2021.

SRH finished at the eighth spot in the IPL 2021 Points table as they managed to win just three matches in the previous edition of the cash-rich league. Warner could muster just 195 runs from eight games and had a dismal strike rate of 107.73. Considering Warner’s poor form & SRH’s humiliating performance, the veteran player was not retained by the franchise.

SRH revamped its Support Staff for the IPL 2022

The SRH squad is under the reconstruction phase as they have renewed their support staff by including notable names in their support staff.  Tom Moody, who served as the Director of Cricket for the previous season, replaced Trevor Bayliss as the team’s head coach. SRH also roped in former Australia cricketer Simon Katich as the assistant coach for IPL 2022.

West Indies batting legend Brian Lara will serve as the team’s strategic advisor and batting coach for the upcoming season while South Africa’s Dale Stryem has been appointed as SRH’s new bowling coach. EX India Player Hemang Badani will perform the dual role of fielding coach & scout for the franchise.

After bringing in some experienced & renowned people in their support staff, the franchise will next aim to bring in some big guns in the IPL 2022 Auction to make their stance strong in the upcoming season of the IPL.
