SRH vs MI Live Score: Hyderabad registers a nervy three runs win over MI to keep their Playoff Hopes Alive

SRH vs MI Live Score: The Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai witnessed another nerve triggering clash on Tuesday when SRH took on MI in IPL’s league stage fixture. Riding on Rahul Tripathi’s fiery 76-run knock & Umran malik’s three-wicket, SRH registered a narrow three runs win over Mumbai Indians. The victory in a high-scoring match has helped SRH to keep their playoff hopes alive.

Rahul Tripathi’s resounding 76-run knock set the foundation for SRH’s Gutsy Win

Earlier batting first, SRH didn’t get off to an ideal start as they lost their opener, Abhishek Sharma, for 9 runs in the third over. However, his dismissal didn’t affect their innings much as Priyam Garg joined hands with Rahul Tripathi to help SRH recover from an early jolt. The duo stitched a rewarding 78-run stand for the second wicket to anchor SRH’s innings. Soon their dangerous-looking stand was broken when Ramandeep removed Garg after scoring 42 runs off 26 balls.

However, Rahul Tripathi on the other end didn’t give up. He made sure that SRH never fell short of runs by stitching meaningful stands first with Priyam Garg & then with Nicholas Pooran. Tripathi & Pooran got the better of MI bowlers by stitching a 76-run stand for the third wicket. But Mumbai Indians didn’t let them go for big scores by removing Pooran after scoring 38 off 22 balls. Soon after Pooran’s dismissal, Tripathi too was sent packing for 76 runs off 44 balls in an innings laced with nine boundaries & three sixes. After Tripathi’s dismissal, there was a bit of collapse as wickets kept falling for SRH. But in the end, SRH managed to finish on 193 for six setting a competitive total for Mumbai Indians to chase. For Mumbai Indians, Ramandeep Singh was their star bowler who returned with figures of 3-20.

Umran Malik’s three-fer ripped Mumbai Indians Innings

In reply, Mumbai Indians got off to a gleaming start with openers Ishan Kishan & Rohit Sharma stitching a 95-run stand for the first wicket. However, their blooming opening wicket stand was soon broken with Washington Sundar removing Rohit Sharma after scoring 48 runs off 36 balls in an innings embellished with two fours & four sixes. Soon after Rohit’s dismissal, Pace sensation Umran Malik struck to remove Ishan Kishan for 43 runs off 34 balls.

Umran came back in the 14th over to remove Tilak Verma & Daniel Sams reducing MI to 127-4. Adding to the dismissal list, Bhuvneshwar Kumar run-out Tistan Snubbs for 2 runs leaving MI reeling at 144-5. Tim David showed some resistance & tried to save MI from another defeat by amassing 46 off 18 balls in an innings laced with four sixes & three fours. Howveer, T Natarajan didn’t let Tim David snatch victory from SRH by dismissing him for 46 runs in the 18th over.

The equation became intense with 19 runs needed off 12 balls, Bhuvneshwar bowled a wicket maiden over to remove Sanjay Yadav for a four-ball duck. With the fall of Sanjay’s wicket, the game was all but over for Mumbai Indians. At the end with 19 runs needed off 6 balls, Bhuvneshwar’s tight bowling denied Ramadeep from hitting the winning runs. As a result, Mumbai Indians fell short of the target by three runs & SRH registered a closely fought win to stay in contention for the Playoffs. For SRH, Umran Malik was the best bowler who rattled Mumbai Indians batting order by scalping three wickets and conceding 23 runs.
