Pakistan’s Captain Babar Azam is pretty confident of winning the much-anticipated clash against arch-rivals India in the upcoming T20 World Cup 2021. India will face Pakistan in their opening clash of the T20 World Cup slated to be played on 24th October at the Dubai International Stadium.
Ahead of the anticipated clash, Babar Azam feels that the ‘Men in Green’ is more prepared & will overpower India in their opening clash of the T20 World Cup.
“We have been playing cricket in the UAE for the past 3-4 years & we know the conditions really well. We know how the wicket will behave & the adjustments batters will have to make. On that day who plays better cricket, wins the match. If you ask me, we will win”, ICC quoted Babar Azam as saying.
Azam has highlighted that the Pakistan Cricket team aims to start their T20 World Cup campaign on a high note by winning their opening match against India.
“Our morale is high and we want to make a positive start to the tournament by winning the opening game against India. Gaining momentum at the start of the tournament will help in improving the confidence of the team,” Babar Azam was quoted as saying.
Pakistan will depart for the UAE on Friday morning to participate in the T20 World Cup 2021. This will be Babar Azam’s first mega event in the shortest format of cricket.
“I am very happy & proud to go to the T20 World Cup as a Captain. We know the pressure & the high intensity of each match, especially the first one. Hopefully, we can win the match & carry the momentum forward”, said Barbar.
Babar Azam further said that he will be opening batting along with Mohammad Rizwan in the mega event.
“I will open the innings with Rizwan during the World Cup but we can change our plans after looking at the conditions. Mohammad Hafeez and Shoaib Malik are match-winners and their experience will help us on the field,” Babar added in his statement.
T20 World Cup 2021, India vs Pakistan: Head to Head Records in World Cup:
The Indian team selected for the T20 World Cup got a good understanding of UAE’s pitch as they have played enough fixtures during the ongoing IPL 2021. On the other hand, Pakistan’s preparations for the T20 World Cup got adversely affected after New Zealand and England canceled their limited-overs tours to the country due to security concerns.
Pakistan has never defeated India in any World cup fixture. The ‘Men in Blue’ will continue to keep up their winning momentum against Pakistan in the upcoming clash while the ‘Men in Green’ will aim to create history by defeating India in the opening clash of the T20 World Cup.
