TNPL 2022: Varun, Sunny gleams as Madhurai Panthers beats Dindigul by seven wickets

The sixth match of the TNPL 2022 was quite straightforward with Siechen Madhurai Panthers dominating the show right from the beginning. A clinical show by Siechem Madhurai Panthers helped them to outclass Dindigul Dragons by seven wickets to register their third win of the TNPL 2022 in four matches they had played.

Batting first, Dindigul Dragons couldn’t create an impression as they were restricted to the below the part total of 122 runs. RS Mokit Hariharan starred with the bat by amassing an unbeaten 43 off 31 balls. After his dismissal Captain Hari Nishanth (26-ball 24) and wicket-keeper batter, Mani Bharathi (22-ball 18) stitched a blooming stand to keep Dragons on the winning track. However, they couldn’t convert their starts as they were sent back to the pavilion after getting run-out.

For Dragons part of these three batters, none of them could contribute with the bat & cross the 10-run mark. Madurai bowlers- Sandhu (3-11) & Varun Chakravarthy (2-14) produced a clinical show with the ball to restrict the Dragons to a meager total & laid the foundation of their scintillating win.

In reply, Chasing an easy total of 123 runs, Panthers opener Arun Karthik provided a flying start to their team, hitting 41 runs off 31 balls in an innings embellished with seven fours. Second Spot batter, Vignesh Iyer too couldn’t make a huge difference as he was dismissed after scoring 11 runs. Then came left-handed batter Balchander Anirudh on the crease who took matters into his hand & smashed an unbeaten 51 off 34 balls to help Madhurai Panthers complete their chase in 15.3 overs.

Dindigul Dragons bowlers couldn’t show up with the ball with L Vignesh, M Silambarasan, and VP Diran scalping one wicket each.
