Tom Latham & Devon Conway are heading strong at the crease as New Zealand needs 120 runs to win the inaugural season of the WTC Final at the Ageas bowl stadium. Excitement & tension is mounting at both sides as the marquee final is reaching a conclusion. Both the teams are competing with all their strengths to clinch the historic title of the inaugural season of the WTC.
At the tea break, New Zealand’s score read 19/0 & the team needs 120 runs to win the marquee final. For the New Zealand openers Tom Latham (5*) & Conway (9*) are still at the crease leading the kiwis innings. With 139 runs to win, the Black Caps openers batted cautiously till the tea break without losing any wickets. After tea break, the kiwis will need 120 runs from 45 overs to win the WTC final.
Earlier Resuming the session after lunch break at 130/5, Rishabh Pant & Ravindra Jadeja added 12 runs on board before Jadeja was sent back to the pavilion by Neil Wagner for 16 runs. Ravichandran Ashwin joined Rishabh Pant in the middle & the duo added 14 runs to the total. However, the blooming partnership ended in the 70th over as Pant got out for 41 runs off Trent Boult’s delivery. The dismissal of Pant was the beginning of the end of India’s innings. In the very same over, Ashwin (7) was dismissed by Trent Boult & India was reduced to 156 for 8 wickets down.
India’s star pacer Mohammed Shami added 13 valuable runs to India’s total but in the end, it was all about waiting for the innings to end. For New Zealand, Kyle Jamieson scalped two wickets while Boult picked three wickets. Neil Wagner contributed by scalping one wicket.
