Melbourne Renegades vs Brisbane Heat: Melbourne Renegades put in a vital all-round performance against Brisbane Heat to register their second consecutive win of the season and thereby reach the fifth position on the points table. The likes of Kane Richardson, Zahir Khan and Nabi picked were outstanding and picked two wickets each. Thanks to those valuable contributions, Brisbane Heat were restricted to just 128 runs in the first innings.
Brisbane Heat didn’t exhibit a great showing with the bat. Apart from Jake Lehmann none of the batsmen made a notable contribution with the bat. Jakes Lehmann was the only one who looked solid at his stay at the crease. He made a vital knock of 65 runs off 52 balls to help the team reach some sort of trouble.
Besides, the likes of Jack Clayton (15 off 15), Fakhar Zaman (3 off 8), and Heazlett (12 off 16) didn’t inspire any confidence with the bat.
Melbourne Renegades, in reply, wreaked havoc with the bat. The experienced duo of Aaron Finch and Shaun Marsh, once again, starred with the bat. Aaron Finch played a solid knock of 37 runs off 28 balls, while Shaun Marsh too played a sensational knock of 57 off 35 balls, including 6 fours and 3 sixes.
The Renegades lost their first wicket on just the second ball of the first over of the second innings. But, a 96-run partnership between Shaun Marsh and Aaron Finch for the second wicket, later, took the game away from the Brisbane Heat. Shaun Marsh got out in the 11th over, while Finch got out in the 12th over but the duo had done most of the work by then.
Skipper Nic Maddinson, later, played an unbeaten 22-run knock of14 balls to guide his home in just 15 overs.
