PSL 6: The Quetta Gladiators franchise suffered a major blow on Wednesday as its star batsman FAF Du Plessis is ruled out of the remaining matches of the ongoing PSL 6 being played in UAE.
Taking to Twitter, the franchisee wrote, “Gladiator @afa1307 will not be able to take further part in @thePSLt20 after a nasty collision earlier in the tournament. Faf Du Plessis will be flying back to South Africa. We wish the legend all the best & hope that he gets back on the field soon”.
The former South Africa Captain on Sunday had provided an update on his health after he injured himself while playing for the Quetta Gladiators franchise in the PSL 6. Faf Du Plessis was immediately taken to hospital in Abu Dhabi after he had a tragic collision with his teammate Mohammad Hasnain during a match on Sunday.
“Thank you everyone for all the messages of support. I am back at the hotel recovering. Have a concussion with some memory loss but I will be fine. Hopefully, be back on the field soon. Much love”, tweeted Plessis on Sunday.
Earlier Faf Du Plessis’ wife Imari Visser expressed her concern for her husband after the batsman ended up injuring himself on the field. Imari, who is married to Plessis since November 2013, stated that Plessis should be treated in a hospital. By expressing her concern for Plessis, Imari Visser took to her Instagram story & wrote, “This is killing me right now. Surely he should be checked in the hospital!??”
Quetta Gladiators made use of concussion substitute in the second successive match in the PSL after Windies all-rounder, Andre Russell was hit on his helmet by a bouncer from Mohammad Musa. Saim Ayub was brought in as Faf’s concussion substitute for the match against Peshawar Zalmi.
