The PCB & the franchise owners had a virtual meeting on Tuesday to discuss the progress made in the staging of the remaining matches of PSL 6. During the session, the PCB has decided that the Pakistan team will depart for England on June 25 instead of June 23 & the PSL 6 final will be held on June 24 instead of June 20.
With the change in Players’ departure schedule, now three double-headers will be played in the PSL tournament which will start on June 7. During the session, the franchises updated on the 16 Production Company crew who are currently isolating in Dubai after being permitted entry in Abu Dhabi last week.
It is also reported that NCEMA will decide on Wednesday afternoon if they will grant exemptions to 16 production crew to work in Abu Dhabi from June 5 to make the broadcast on June 7 possible. It is also informed that PCB will continue to engage with the Abu Dhabi government & franchise owners for the smooth commencement of the PSL 6 in this tough situation.
Meanwhile, Sarfaraz Ahmed & six other players of the PSL 6 who were denied from boarding commercial flights have landed in Abu Dhabi. Whereas the seven days isolation period of the players who have arrived at Abu Dhabi on chartered flights from Pakistan will end today in the afternoon.
Earlier this week, 6 players & officials were denied from boarding commercial flights going from Lahore & Karachi to Abu Dhabi via Doha because they didn’t have the required clearances to board the flights as per the restrictions in place on travelers to the UAE amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
However, the players & Officials who were denied permission to board commercial flights to Abu Dhabi have traveled through Bahrain to Abu Dhabi later on Monday night, informed PCB in an Official statement.
On the other hand, Islamabad United & Lahore Qalandars team will start their training for the PSL 6 on Wednesday in the evening at Sheikh Zayed Cricket Stadium.
