On June 9, fourth-placed Lahore Qalandars will meet third-placed Islamabad United in the 15th match of the PSL 6. PCB Chief Executive Wasim khan said in an Official Release that since its inception in 2016, the PSL has overcome numerous challenges, “to emerge as a stronger & competitive league year-on-year”. “The credibility of the PSL brand remains important to the PCB & I am pleased that we have continued to take decisive actions in the situation of ongoing pressures & major challenges which is out of control over the last 10 days. Everyone has worked tirelessly to find solutions & a way forward & I am delighted that we are now in a position to announce the complete schedule”, he said.
The delay in the start of the PSL 2021 due to logistical & operational challenges has allowed the teams with sufficient time to train, practice & gear up for the biggest prize in Pakistan’s cricket history. United & Qalandars resumed training on Wednesday evening, while the other four teams will start their training on Thursday. Players & player support personnel who have completed their seven days isolation after returning with three negative tests are allowed to join their sides & participate in training sessions.
To make the new schedule work appropriately in the interest of players, commercial partners & franchises, the PCB in consultation with the ECB has agreed to delay the departure of Pakistan’s men’s team & players support personnel from Abu Dhabi to June 25 instead of June 23.
The Pakistan team will arrive in Manchester from where they will be traveled to Derby for the mandatory room isolation period & training session. The Pakistan team will then move to Cardiff on July 6 where the first ODI will be played between England & Pakistan on July 8th.
