Rashid khan to play in PSL 6 instead of Sussex County Cricket

Afghanistan’s spinner Rashid Khan has revealed that he has put his contract with Sussex County Club on hold in order to feature in the PSL 6.

Rashid Khan also praised Sussex County Club for understanding his decision to play in the PSL 6 instead of playing five games with the County Club. “Unfortunately, I only played two matches in PSL 6 & had to go away for national duty. Now I had an option to stay back in England & here I must appreciate Sussex County club for their help & understanding as I had to decide between missing five games with the county Club or playing a whole tournament like PSL which seemed a better option as the fans wanted me to play in the PSL 6”, PCB quoted Rashid Khan as saying.

The star spinner also believes that playing in the PSL tournament will give good exposure to Afghanistan players & it will also help in improving the relationship between Pakistan & Afghanistan Cricket Boards. “All the players who have come from Afghanistan Cricket & are playing the PSL, this is a great opportunity for them to come & play alongside top players & to improve their own cricket. For all those Afghan Cricketers who have got an opportunity to play in other leagues, this is a great chance to prove that they have the skills & talent to play in top-level cricket”, added Rashid Khan.

“Playing crickets between two countries will increase love & respect between players of both the countries, Sports is all about bringing unity & respect between countries”, said Rashid Khan. The remaining matches of the PSL 6 will be played in Abu Dhabi starting from June 9 to June 24. While the Pakistan Cricket team will depart for Manchester from the UAE on June 25 instead of June 23.

In the second phase of PSL 6, six double-headers will be played. Five of them during the preliminary round & the sixth header on June 21, when Qualifier & Eliminator 1 matches will be played. The Eliminator 2 match will be played on June 22 & the PSL 6 final on June 24. On 9 June, the fourth-placed Lahore Qalandars will face Islamabad United in the 15th match of the PSL 6.
