Welsh Fire will come into a face-off with Southern Brave in the eighth match of the Hundred Men’s 2021 tournament at Sophia Gardens, Cardiff on Tuesday. The Welsh Fire began their hundred campaign with a win against the Northern Superchargers. Batting first, the fire brought up a huge total of 173 runs with Jonny Bairstow leading from the forefront. Ben Duckett & James Neesham also displayed meaningful performances.
Superchargers were close to surpassing their target when Welsh Fire held their nerves to restrict them & register a narrow five runs win. Qais Ahmed’s brilliant spell of 4/13 helped Welsh Fire to beat Superchargers in their run chase. The Southern Brave had a forgetful match as they were beaten by the Trent Rockets in Nottingham.
Batting first, the Southern Brave managed a meager total of 126 runs which Trent Rockets chased with nine wickets and 18 deliveries to spare. Southern Brave will look forward to bouncing back to winning terms on Tuesday while the Welsh Fire team will look to build on their opening win.
