WBBL 2021: Harmanpreet Kaur becomes the first Player to win the Player of the Tournament Award

India’s T20I captain Harmanpreet Kaur has scripted her name in golden words on Wednesday by becoming the first player of the country to win the Player of the Series award in the Women’s Big Bash League. Harmanpreet who is an integral part of the Melbourne Renegades team won the award after receiving the highest number of votes. She outclassed Perth Scorchers’ Sophie Devine and Beth Mooney with 31 votes, 3 more than her nearest rivals.

Harmanpreet Kaur who has returned to the WBBL after a 2-year absence has been in blistering form smashing 399 runs in 11 innings at an average of 66.50 & scalped 15 wickets at an impressive economy rate of fewer than 8 runs per over. Harmanpreet also tops the six-hitting list by smashing 18 sixes in the tournament.

Though Harmanpreet couldn’t perform well for India in their recent fixtures at the WBBL 2021 she truned things around as she starred with both bat & ball. This time in the WBBL 2021 she performed well with the ball as well by bowling those crucial overs in the powerplay for the Renegades in the absence of injured spinner Georgia Wareham.
