Mohammad Amir & Haris Sohail have withdrawn themselves from the Pakistan squad for their England tour due to their personal reasons.
Fast bowler Mohammad Amir & batsman Haris Sohail have withdrawn from Pakistan’s England tour due to their personal reasons, the PCB said on Thursday. Pakistan is due to play three test matches & three 20-20 Internationals starting in August with hosts England providing bio-secure arrangements in closed stadiums & hotels. Amir has withdrawn so that he can be at the birth of his second child in August, while Sohail will miss the tour because of family reasons,” the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) said in a statement.
Pakistan Media reported Sohail does not travel without his family & they are not allowed on this tour due to certain reasons. The ECB has provided special arrangements to reduce the risk of the coronavirus for their series against the West Indies scheduled before Pakistan matches with hotels inside venues at both Manchester & Southampton.
The PCB will send about 28 players & 14 support personnel on the England tour. Three West Indies players named Darren Bravo, Shimron Hetmyer, and Keemo Paul — withdrew from the England tour over COVID-19 fears last week. The West Indies team reached England on Tuesday & is scheduled to play the first of three test matches in Southampton from July 8.
