CSK are expecting to witness Mahi’s mind blowing performance in the squad until 2022. They are expecting that Dhoni keep playing & led the CSK squad past his 40th birthday the team’s CEO said.
Dhoni has not palyed any competitive cricket since 2019 after India lost to New Zealand in the Semi-finals of World Cup 2019. However he is ready to rock the field by making a comeback with the IPL 2020 in UAE.
It’s not confirm that Dhoni will play again in the national team, however CSK CEO Kasi Viswanathan said that he was confident that the legendary batsman will not retire so soon.
“We don’t worry about him at all. Yes, we can expect MS Dhoni to be part of both (IPL seasons in 2020 and 2021) and probably for even the next year, 2022,” Viswanathan told India Today television late Tuesday.
Dhoni also led CSK to win three IPL titles & will rang his 40th birthday in July next year. He remains one of the best batsman in the Indian Cricket history with any talk of retirement causing concern among his fans.
Viswanathan said that he had only seen Dhoni doing training in indoor nets in his home state of Jharkhand.
“But we don’t have to worry about the skipper,” he said. “He knows his responsibilities and he will take care of himself and the team”, Viswanathan said.
The CSK players will arrive in Chennai this week before leaving for UAE next week where the most awaited lucrative IPL will start from September 19 & finals scheduled on 10th November.
