‘Work From Home’ adopted by BCCI for its employees

Due to the coronavirus threat in India, the Government of India has taken up various precautionary measures to prevent further spread of the virus and thereby ensuring the safety of its citizens. Under various precautionary measures, the government has also passed an order directing closure of malls, schools, colleges, swimming pools, offices, etc in order to avoid gathering of crowds and thereby preventing further spread of COVID-19. Keeping in mind the safety of people most of the renowned companies have adopted work from home approach to abide by the order of government ensuring the safety of people. Adding to numbers, BCCI has also announced to shut down its headquarter in Mumbai from Tuesday with its employees being told to work from home.

The COVID-19 pandemic has forced the BCCI to shut down its headquarter in Mumbai from Tuesday with its employees being told to work from home. It has been learned that the employees have been asked to “work from home” with all the cricketing operations already being suspended until further notice. “The BCCI employees were today notified that the headquarters at the Wankhede Stadium will be shut down in the wake of COVID-19 pandemic. All the staffers have been told to work from home,” a top source from the Board told PTI on conditions of anonymity.

The BCCI has suspended various tournaments including IPL 13 till April 15 along with all other domestic tournaments, including the Irani Cup and women’s Challenger Trophy. India has so far reported 114 positive cases with two deaths. The global death toll has crossed 6,000 and the number of infected is over 160,000.

So to put a full-stop on the increasing cases of COVID-19 in India keeping offices, schools and colleges close is the need of the hour!
