RCB’s star player AB De Villiers seems in the mood of playing some mind-blowing knocks. And registering some remarkable records in the ongoing edition of IPL 2021. In RCB’s clash against DC on Tuesday, AB De Villiers became the second overseas player in the history of the IPL to score mammoth 5000 runs.
SRH Captain David Warner was the first overseas player who achieved the 5000 runs mark in the IPL. RCB captain Virat Kohli is the highest run-scorer in the IPL with 6041 runs registered on his name. He is followed by CSK’s Suresh Raina who has scored 5472 runs on his name.
To add to the 5000 runs players list is Rohit Sharma & Shikhar Dhawan who has scored more than 5000 runs in the history of IPL. AB De Villiers blasted 75 runs off 42 balls in an innings comprising of three fours & five sixes. To help RCB register a stunning total of 171/5 against Delhi capitals in yesterday’s clash at the Narendra Modi Stadium.
He was also awarded the Player of the Match award for his superlative 75 runs knock which guided RCB to a decent total of 172 runs. AB De Villiers contributed to his team’s success not only with bat but also with ball by taking three crucial catches from behind the stumps.
RCB Captain Virat Kohli was full of praise for AB de Villiers mesmerizing 75 runs knock. By appreciating AB de Villiers masterclass in yesterday’s clash Virat said, “AB De hasn’t played competitive Cricket for 5 months. But if you look at him abt it doesn’t feel like he doesn’t play International Cricket anymore. Hats off to him. Such an asset for RCB. I’ll say this again, he hasn’t played for five months, just watch that innings”.
With yesterday’s nervy victory RCB has reached the top spot on the IPL 2021 Points table. RCB has won five games out of six matches played in the IPL 2021. RCB will face PBKS in their next clash on April 30.
