One of the star player of RCB & also a good wicket-keeper AB De Villiers will continue his wicket-keeping role in the IPL 2021.
RCB’s Director of Cricket, Mike Hesson said that AB De Villiers will once again do wicket-keeping for the team in the IPL 2021. In last year’s IPL, AB De donned wicket-keeper gloves for few matches & is expected to do the same in the upcoming season of the IPL. RCB is set to face Mumbai Indians in the IPL 2021 season’s opening match.
“We are glad that AB De Villiers loves to do wicket-keeping. He wanted to continue doing wicket-keeping which is great! We have a couple of other wicket-keeping options which an advantage for us. Mohammed Azharuddin is a natural athlete with gloves on the field. We also have KS Bharat who is a natural wicket-keeper & gives us different options as well”, said Mike Hessen in a video posted on the Official Twitter handle of RCB.
“Right now we are not going to make any commitment to you guys as to who will do what. We are happy with the options of wicket-keeping we have & AB De is one of those options”, Hessen added in his statement.
RCB will start their training camp for IPL 2021 on March 29. Earlier Hessen has also said that AB De Villiers will arrive on March 28 in India for the IPL 2021.
“We have got players arriving till April 1. Finn Allen will be playing in T20 in New Zealand on April 1 & then he will come a day after ABD arrives on 28”, Hessen said. The final of the IPL 2021 will be played on May 30 at the Narendra Modi Stadium.
