Virat Kohli’s has been granted paternity leave from BCCI & Kohli’s paternity leave will be an advantage for Australia in the upcoming test series according to the former Australian captain Allan Border.
Kohli will leave the tour & will return back to India after playing the first test match for the birth of his first child. “I think that is a big ‘out’ for India,” Border told a leading newspaper. “He is irreplaceable at the moment as a batsman and as a leader,” he added. India tour of Australia will commence with three ODIs & three T20Is before the Border-Gavaskar Trophy Test series.
Kohli led India to their first ever Test series win in Australia on their last tour in 2018-2019. But at that time Australia was without star batsman such as Steve Smith and David Warner, who were serving one-year bans for ball-tampering.
Border said that he is very confident that Australia can win the test series this time as team India will be without the service of Captain Kohli. Further praising Kohli’s leadership & batting skills Border said, “I love the way he plays his game — he wears his heart on his sleeve,” Border said. “I like his aggression and passion for the game. India as a team will miss that.”
