Delhi Capitals pacer Anrich Nortje has tested negative for COVID-19 & joins Delhi Capitals bio-bubble confirmed the franchise on Friday.
“Our South Africa pace superstar is now out of quarantine. After a false-positive result for COVID-19, Anrich Nortje tested negative thrice and is now part of our team bubble. We can’t wait to see him in action,” DC wrote in a tweet”.
Earlier on Wednesday Nortje has tested positive for COVID-19 during his mandatory quarantine period after he reached India on April 6. However clearing the air on Nortje being tested positive for COVID-19, DC confirmed that his positive report was false. And he has tested negative for COVID-19 thrice.

“Main aa Gaya hoon (I have returned),” said Nortje in a video posted by DC on social media. “It was nice to see everyone at breakfast,” he said after joining the team. “Finally, out of my room, so excited to get to training today. Looking forward to getting to the stadium. It was nice to finally watch the IPL and it’s nice to see it in India as well”, Nortje added.
Delhi Capitals star pacer Anrich Nortje & Kagiso Rabada play a key role in getting Delhi Capitals to the finals of the IPL last season. Anrich Nortje scalped 22 wickets from 16 matches whereas Rabada finished as the leading wicket-taker in IPL 2021 by scalping 30 wickets in 17 matches. He was also a Purple Cap Holder in last year’s IPL.
Kagiso Rabada returned to the DC Playing XI yesterday in their second match of the IPL 2021 which was against Rajasthan Royals. As Nortje is finally out of quarantine we can expect Delhi Capitals to have all their frontline fast bowlers bowling in their next match which is against Punjab Kings on Sunday.
