Ravichandran Ashwin who is currently in an outstanding form with both bat & ball against England is just eight wickets away of becoming the fourth highest wicket-taker for India across all the formats.
Ashwin has been in a brilliant form against England & along with Axar Patel Ashwin has been important in India’s victory in the last two test matches. Ashwin has claimed 24 wickets in the series so far with one test match & the limited overs series still left to be played. Ashwin has scored a century in the second test which turned the entire match in India’s favor.
Ashwin so far has picked 603 International Wickets, seven wickets less of Zaheer Khan’s 610 wickets. On top of the list is Anil Kumble with a total of 956 wickets registered on his name followed by Harbhajan Singh at 711. Kapil Dev is third on the list with 687 wickets registered on his name. Ashwin will be a crucial player in the remaining test not just because of his heroics with the ball but also for his grit with the bat which he has displayed every now & then.
Not only is Ashwin the leading wicket-keeper in the series so far & he is also third on the list of highest run scorers. Irrespective of whether Ashwin reaches this desirable landmark or not, he has already made a mark in the series as one of the India’s most valuable players.
