Rajasthan Royals star player Ben Stokes is ruled out of the IPL 2021 due to a broken finger. Yes, you have heard it right! Ben Stokes will not be seen playing for RR in the rest of the IPL 2021!
Rajasthan Royals took to Twitter to announce the news of Stokes injury. “Rajasthan Royals all-rounder Ben Stokes has injured a finger on his left hand while fielding during RR’s first match against PBKS on 12th April in Mumbai. Investigations revealed that Ben stokes had sustained a broken finger, which will, unfortunately, rule him out of the rest of the IPL 2021”, Rajasthan Royals said in its Official statement.
“Everyone at Rajasthan Royals admires Ben Stokes for being such a valuable asset & a valuable member of the Royals family, both on & off-field & wishes him a speedy recovery”, the statement further read. Rajasthan Royals also announced that Ben Stokes has decided to stay with the team & the franchise will soon find the replacement for England’s all-rounder.
“We are extremely delighted to know that Ben would like to stay with the team to provide his valued support & inputs off-field. In the meantime we will find potential replacement options of Stokes for the rest of the season”, RR announced through its official statement.
Ben Stokes had bowled just one over against PBKS on Monday. And was feeling discomfort after he completed a low diving catch to remove Punjab Kings Chris Gayle from the field. After suffering from an injury Ben Stokes continued playing but did not bowl further in the match. With bat also Stokes couldn’t deliver much as he lasted for just three balls before he top-edged the ball which landed straight in the hands of KL Rahul.
