Following Australia pacer, Pat Cummins initiative Cricketer turned Commentator Brett Lee has come forward for India’s help in its fight against COVID-19 Pandemic’s Second Wave. Brett Lee who is currently in India for the ongoing IPL 2021, took to Twitter to announce that he would be donating 1 Bitcoin to help India with “the purchase of oxygen supplied for hospitals across the country”. The value of 1 Bitcoin comes to approximately 40, 95,991 Rupees.
Earlier on Monday, Australia’s star pacer Pat Cummins revealed that he would be donating the US $50,000 to the ‘PM Cares Fund’ to help India with oxygen purchase. Taking to Twitter Brett Lee wrote, “India has always been like a second home for me. The love & affection that I have always received from the people of India both during my professional career & even after my retirement, holds a very special place in my heart. It saddens me deeply to see India’s people suffering due to the ongoing Pandemic”.
“Now this is the time to be united & ensure we do as much as we can to help the needy people”, Brett Lee said. “Well done Pat Cummins for the initiative yesterday”, Brett Lee further wrote. Earlier on Monday, Pat Cummins informed that he has donated $50,000 to the PM Cares Fund to help India purchase oxygen supplies for hospitals amid the COVID-19 pandemic. Pat Cummins also appealed to the fellow players who are playing in the IPL 2021 to come forward & donate for the same cause.
India has been heavily suffering from the second wave of deadly COVID-19 & recorded over 3.23 lakh new COVID-19 cases on Tuesday. India has also registered 2,771 deaths in the last 24 hours. Facing a huge shortage of medical supplies, India has been receiving plenty of financial aid from foreign countries. The UK’s help came for India on Tuesday which included 100 ventilators and 95 Oxygen concentrators.
