Yuzvendra Chahal on Friday registered an unwanted record as he became an Indian Spinner to concede the most runs in an ODI.
Chahal gave away 89 runs in 10 overs against Australia in the first ODI at the SCG. He broke his own record of conceding 88 runs in an ODI. He had conceded the most number of runs by an Indian bowler in a World Cup match against England in 2019.
In the first ODI against Australia Chahal had dismissed Marcus Stoinis for a golden duck but wasn’t able to get over Maxwell who smashed 45 runs off 19 balls. Whereas Australia put up a stunning performance with the bat & set a huge target of 375 for team India in the first ODI on the back of Aaron Finch and Steve Smith’s centuries. Captain Aaron Finch became the second fastest Australian player to hit 5000 runs in ODIs. India & Australia will face each other in the second ODI at the same venue on Sunday, 29th November.
