Rhapsodic Former Indian Captain MS Dhoni & his other CSK squad teammates has arrived in Chennai for a short training Camp on Friday to gear up themselves for the upcoming IPL season in UAE. Dhoni will make a comeback from the 13th edition of the IPL after staying away from International cricket for a long duration since last year’s World Cup in which India lost to New Zealand in the Semi-Finals.
Apart from Dhoni other cricketers who have reached the city for a week long training camp which will start on Saturday are Suresh Raina, Deepak Chahar, Piyush Chawla & kedar Jadhav. “Thirteen or 14 of the 16 Indian players will be part of the camp, including MS. Since they came after undergoing COVID-19 tests, their next test will be 72 hours before leaving for the UAE on August 21. They will start training from tomorrow,” a CSK official told PTI.
The three time IPL Champions CSK franchise has posted pictures of Dhoni & other players arriving in Chennai on their social media page. All the players of CSK squad will be the part of this week long training camp except Ravindra Jadeja.
Jadeja will be missing the training camp due to his personal reasons & will join the squad before team’s departure to the Tournament Venue. As mentioned in the SOP from the BCCI all the players participating in the cash-rich league would have to undergo two coronavirus tests & they will be allowed to fly to UAE only if they tests negative for the deadly virus.
All the franchises are planning to take eight net bowlers along with them to UAE to help them train for the IPL season. Adding to the list is CSK who has selected eight net bowlers from Tamil Nadu who will travel with the Official team to UAE.
Dhoni who is fondly called as “Thala” will be seen hitting some powerful sixes & fours in the upcoming IPL season by playing with the CSK squad & leading them towards winning the much desirable IPL trophy.
