CSK Captain MS Dhoni underwent a COVID-19 Test on Wednesday for becoming a part of the upcoming IPL season & his test report is expected to come by Thursday.

Dhoni underwent a COVID-19 Test as the CSK squad will leave for UAE by August 21 for participating in the upcoming IPL season which will kick-start from 19th September & it is clearly mentioned in the SOP that the franchise players & members need to have two negative COVID-19 test report in order to be a part of the 13th edition of the IPL.

The micro praxis lab at Private Guru Nanak Hospital took Dhoni’s blood sample from his Simaliya based farmhouse on Wednesday. Besides Dhoni another CSK player Monu Kumar Singh also gave his blood samples for COVID-19 test.

An unknown source in the Guru Nanak Hospital said that the test report of both the players will come by Thursday afternoon. If their reports turn out to be negative then both the players will leave for Chennai where CSK will have a five day camp before leaving for IPL in UAE.

Dhoni’s return to cricket proves that cricket is still there in him & talking about the same CSK CEO Kasi Viswanathan has given a clear hint that Dhoni will be leading the CSK squad until 2022 & Dhoni fans will get the opportunity to witness Dhoni’s spectacular “helicopter” shots for at-least a couple of seasons ahead.

Viswanathan quoted as saying, “We don’t worry about him at all. Yes, we can expect MS Dhoni to be part of both (IPL 2020 and 2021) and probably for even the next year, 2022. I am getting updates through the media only, saying he has been training in Jharkhand in indoor nets. But we don’t have to worry about the skipper, boss. We don’t worry about him at all. He knows his responsibilities and he will take care of himself and the team.”

After much discussion & planning the fate of IPL is decided. The IPL Governing Council confirmed that IPL will take place this year in the UAE with franchises started training for the tournament & undergoing a mandatory COVID-19 test before flying to UAE.
