Delhi Capitals Head Coach Ricky Ponting pep talk during his first interaction with the Delhi Capitals squad became a huge hit on social media. Fans were comparing him with ‘Chak De India’ movie’s Kabir Khan a fictional character played by Shah Rukh khan. Ahead of the opening match against CSK Delhi Capitals Official Twitter handle posted a video. In the video, DC has pointed the difference between Ponting & Shahrukh Khan’s character of hockey Coach ‘Kabir Khan’.

“The only difference between @RickyPonting and Kabir Khan is that the latter had a stubble on Matchday #CSKvDC #YehHaiNayiDilli #IPL2021,” wrote Delhi Capitals on Twitter. When Delhi Capitals Ricky Ponting was asked whether he will keep his beard on match day. Ponting denied it by saying, shaving the beard is one ritual that he follows before every match. Explaining the reason behind clean shaves before every match. Ponting hilariously said that he was afraid that if his wife saw him like that “she’ll probably divorce me”.

“No, I won’t do, because if I do, t think my wife will see me on television. And she will probably divorce me if she sees that. I will be having a clean shave over the next few days. It’s always a ritual of mine anyway. I am not sure if you have ever noticed this but I am always cleanly shaved the night before every match. So on the night of 9th April, I will be having a shave for sure”, Ponting says in the video.

Since Ponting has been appointed as Head Coach of Delhi Capitals. DC has seen a remarkable turnaround. Ricky Ponting didn’t have a good start as Delhi Capitals head coach. Delhi Capitals finished at the bottom of the Points Table in 2018. But in the next year, DC qualified for the playoffs after finishing third on the Points Table. In the IPL 2020, Delhi Capitals went one step ahead as they reached the final for the first time in 2020.
