CSK vs. RR: Steve Smith & Jofra Archer Adds Strength to Rajasthan Royals!

CSK is scheduled to face Rajasthan Royals(RR) in the 4th Match of the IPL 2020 on 22nd September. CSK with its stunning performance won the first match of the IPL 2020 against Mumbai Indians. Though two of their top players are not a part of the tournament but rest of the players made it a point to give their best & bag victory.

One member of the CSK squad Deepak Chahar has just joined the squad after testing negative in two coronavirus tests. A team with most players in their 30’s are not expected to field better however, FAF du Plessis took stunning catches at the boundary & stunned everyone with his activeness. Dhoni led CSK with its hard work & spectacular performance won the Opener match of the IPL 2020 against Mumbai Indians.

Just like CSK, RR also had their problems. Star all-rounder Ben Stokes is yet to arrive in the UAE from New Zealand, where he has been since England granted him leave to be with his ill father. Jos Butler who is considered as the best T20 batsmen in the World is still in Quarantine & will not be available for Rajasthan Royals’ IPL opener match.

However with Steve Smith, Jofra Archer Tom Curran and David Miller being fit & available with RR. RR’s team have players who could get the game in their favor. Besides overseas players RR have experienced Indian players like Robin Uthappa, a two-time IPL winner with Kolkata Knight Riders, all-rounder Shreyas Gopal and opening batsman Sanju Samson.

Pacer Oshane Thomas could be double trouble for CSK along with Archer. Medium pacers Jaydev Unadkat and Andrew Tye have variations and an IPL hat-trick each while mystery spinner Mayank Markande would combine with Gopal to form a spin duo.

Rajasthan Royals have a well-balanced team just like other teams but how well you play on the field is what matters. For CSK, Dwayne Bravo is still out of the IPL opener and Imran Tahir didn’t find a place in the XI. If Bravo is fit for the game, he could come in and replace either Shane Watson or Lungi Ngidi.

Sam Curran would be a replacement for Bravo but given Curran’s heroics with bat and ball in the last game, its unlikely CSK will ask him to sit out. For Dhoni fans their wait for watching ‘Thala’ on field can be over with the second match of the IPL 2020 i.e. Rajasthan Royals vs. Chennai Super kings on 22nd September.
