Delhi Capitals Roars Back as Rajasthan Royals Succumbed in Yesterday’s Clash held in Dubai!

Rajasthan Royals who were trying to overcome their shortcomings by registering a spectacular win in Sunday’s match again surrender to defeat in yesterday’s clash against Delhi Capitals who registered their sixth win of the IPL 2020 to get to the top of the Points Table by scoring 12 points.

Chasing an average target of 162 runs, Rajasthan Royals were able to reach the mark of 86/3 in the 11th over when Ben Stokes got dismissed at 41 runs off 35 balls & RR were restricted to 148/8. With 13 runs victory, Delhi returned to winning ways after facing a narrow margin defeat against Mumbai Indians. Jos Buttler who scored 22 runs & Sanju Samson scored 25 runs off 18 balls did the foundation work for Rajasthan Royals but eventually Stokes & Samson’s dismissals in the range of 1.2 overs after one another resulted in the collapse of RR’s batting order.

Steve Smith got dismissed at just 1 run but Samson & Stokes added 46 runs for the third wicket to put Rajasthan back to command in match. However after they were dismissed, Robin Uthappa scored 32 off 27 balls & was the only batsman who could stay glued to the cricket pitch for some time as Parag was run out in unfortunate circumstances & Tewatia scored just 14 runs out from 18 balls left too much for the end.

With 22 needed off the last over, Delhi Capitals took a punt on debutant Tushar Deshpande & the fast bowler responded by giving away just eight in addition to picking up a wicket. But the killer blow was delivered in the second last over with 25 runs needed off 12 balls when Kasigo Rabada dismissed the big hitting Jofra Archer to leave Tewatia with too much to do in the last six balls.

Earlier Delhi Capitals won the toss & opted to bat. Ajinkya Rahane came to bat at No.3 but he perished soon in an attempt to take on Archer who bowled perfectly with accuracy in the Powerplay. Shikhar Dhawan scored 57 & Shreyas Iyer scored 53 runs shared an 85 runs stand for the third wicket to revive Delhi Capitals from the early blows & Marcus Stoinis (18) & Alex Carey (14) hit a few towards the end to pull their team through to a par score.

Anrich Nortje & Deshpande scalped two wickets for Delhi Capitals while Rabada, Ashwin & Axar Patel got single wicket each. For Rajasthan Royals, Archer had figured of 3 for 19 off four overs while Jaydev Unadhkat got two wickets.
