Virat Kohli was in top batting form for India during the third T20I but couldn’t save his side from facing defeat from England. Virat smashed an unbeaten half century which has been applauded by his fans.
Hitting 77 runs off 46 balls, Kohli helped team India to past a target of 157 runs which England chased in 18.2 overs. Kohli’s knock came at the time when India was losing wickets at regular intervals with Rohit Sharma (15), KL Rahul (0) & Ishan Kishan (4) faltering against the opposition bowling department. Virat’s knock was praised by Dinesh Karthik who hailed him in his own unique way.
Taking to twitter, Dinesh Karthik tweeted, “Starts like a corolla, finishes like a FERRARI #KingKohli”. Virat Kohli came to bat earlier than expected with England’s pacer Mark Wood crushing India’s batting order. Mark Wood registered three wickets in the match, which included dismissals of Opener Batsmen Rohit & KL Rahul.
On his arrival, India were struggling at 20 for two wickets down & he began his stint in style, by hitting a boundary in the first delivery itself. He began his game in a slow manner but soon accelerated his innings & went ahead to hit eight fours & four sixes.
But at the end, Kohli’s knock was outclassed by Jos Buttler who also registered an unbeaten half century for the visitors. Scoring 83 off 52 deliveries the opener batsman helped his team take a 2-1 lead in the ongoing five match T20I series. Both the teams will face each other in the fourth T20I on Thursday at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
